The experienced staff at San Gabriel Animal Hospital has cared for my pets for well over a decade. During that time, I have brought all kinds of cats and dogs to them. Most of them were rescues with complex problems. My pets and I are always treated with utmost courtesy and compassion. This is true whether the animal is young or making that last visit to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Through the years, Dr. Roggendorff and his associated veterinarians have consistently been sensitive to the cost of maintaining multiple pets by providing treatment options. Admittedly, I am a frequent flyer for San Gabriel Animal Hospital. I keep coming back, because they care.
We have been taking our pets to Dr. Roggendorf, AKA Dr. R. at San Gabriel Animal Hospital for 16 years. Dr. Roggendorf saved our Sassy when she was a puppy. He also saved our little Whoopi. She was a rescue from a "puppy mill". Miss Peggy saved her and then I was privileged to get her. Whoopi had no hair, except on her head. After testing Dr. R placed her on thyroid medicine. She had a "lot" of teeth extracted by Dr. R. How she ever survived is a testimony to him and Dr. Kaplan who cleared her schedule to do an emergency spay as she was hemorrhaging. Dr. R and his staff raised money for Whoopi to get her little shoulder joint repaired by Dr. Murphy - doggy orthopedic surgeon. We were able to enjoy this little bundle of joy for 3 years and yes she grew hair albeit thin. When she had to leave us, Dr. R was so compassionate and Miss Kate was there with me and gave me encouragement. Miss Peggy was in Minnesota at the time, but she was with us in spirit. Dr. R and his staff sent us a sympathy card and a book after little Whoopi wen on her "rainbow journey". Hold on there are 2 more special dogs in our life - Miss Daisy - bless her heart a rescue from Temple Shelter. My first stop was San Gabriel Animal Hospital, as I had to make sure she was healthy and she was "filthy". Miss Annabelle and Miss Karyl gave her lots of love and kisses and a good bath. They took her picture and she became part of the San Gabriel Hospital family. She is an important part of our family! Then what can I say? There is gnarley Marley. The sweetest little Pomeranian who Dr. Riekert, an awesome associate of Dr. R, and Miss Karyl doctored and nursed back to health. He, like Miss Whoopi, "neglected" . and they took him in and made sure he received the care that all animals deserve,. He came into our family by accident and what a wonderful miracle that was. He was a gift from Miss Karyl. He is not as laid back or "sleepy" as he was and not to sound like a proud parent, he has some cute tricks. Miss Daisy loves him "a lot"! They walk and prance every night and share food thanks to Dr. Riekert and Miss Karyl and the care he received. All the staff loved him and took very good care of him. When you have a healthy dog, you have a happy dog and thanks to all the staff and doctors at San Gabriel Animal Hospital I have that good fortune. There are a lot of very accomplished and good doctors here in Georgetown, Texas. For our family of "fur children", I made the decision to stay with San Gabriel Animal Hospital. I was so surprised and oh so very happy when I walked in the hospital one day and saw that Miss Peggy, Miss Karyl, Miss Kate and Miss Julie all came back. They are very experienced at what they do and I am grateful that they are back, because they know how much I care and worry over our pets and they make me relaxed just knowing they are going to answer the phone or be there when I "drop in". This is a long review, but after 16 years, it is going to be. I will end by saying after 16 years of using this hospital, I have met a lot of great vet techs who are no longer there. I will always remember them with kindness and gratitude. They know who they are but most of all I appreciate the docs and their staff at San Gabriel Hospital. They not only treat our pets, they treat us too, they know we are nervous and frightened and if you notice, it is not on purpose you wait a little when you and your pet are waiting to see the doctor - they are giving you time to settle in and calm yourself a little - have you noticed when you are calm then your pet is also calm. Much love to all
bad place to go , i do NOT recommend the old man dr. roggendorff , he dosent know what he is doing or is talking about. He always takes way to long with appointments, you can be there for 4 hours for a simple upset tummy , with no testing done just a bunch of use less medication that cost you about $300 and if that isnt enough he is trying to push more stuff on you at the front desk. the staff that he used to have was very caring and cared about the well being of your pet.. these new people he has working there just seem to care about the money and how to increase your bill. I will never go back there. I did see dr. Webb a few times with my pets and she was WONDERFUL and i loved how she got down on the floor and interacted with my dog and did a very good exam , i would highly recommend her. I have learned that she is no longer with san gabriel but, she has opened up her new clinic in georgetown called Good water Animal Hospital right by sun city , which is very close for me to drive. I have been to her new clinic once and it is very very pretty. All high tech new equipment. i also learned that the techs that worked with her at san gabriel have moved with her to her new clinic , along with the wonderful front desk lady Tammy. so you get a WONDERFUL dr. and CARING techs.
Awesome staff, very caring and loving to my puppies and the older dog that I lost in the spring of this year. AWESOME....AWESOME!!!!
Very very unorganized and the front office staff seems like they cannot manage time their. One visit, we spent over two hours in the office!!!! The front office staff was more concerned with taking the animals that were being boarded over-night for their morning walks, they didn't seem to care about the clients in the waiting room. In addition, the veterinarian seemed more like a used car salesman trying to get me to "add on" so many different blood tests and other medical tests that I felt like her only concern was making more money. When I finally got out of their, I swore that I would never go back. Good look in your search for a vet but be aware of what you are getting at this place.
