I have taken both my mini beagle and black lab there for years and feel very confident they will be taken care of. For some services that are done by a tech, you can drop by without an appointment. That makes it much easier for me since the beagle needs his glands done about every month or so. I saw some other reviews mentioning pricing. Every time I have asked for an estimate on the phone, my bill was that exact cost. They will occasionally suggest/remind me of an additional service, but have NEVER done any work without my prior approval.

I took my little poodle Pepper to this facility shortly after moving to this area from Abilene. She was old, and going downhill fast...I asked this hospital to help me with the difficult decision of putting her to rest. The service was impressive, and compassion was felt. I am glad I made the decision to take her here. My new puppy Jammer has been a few times for vaccines. Unlike most vets, this facility seems to "drag" out the vaccines and asks that you return time after time until all are done. This raises costs to the pet owner. Well, it is time for Jammer to be neutered, and he has some puppy teeth that have remained that need to be pulled (6 total)...they quoted me 196.00 for neutering and 21.00 per tooth...thats 322.00 total. What???? I called Dr. Fromm from Animal Hospital of Waco and was quoted 84.00 for neutering and grouped the teeth at 40.00 for all teeth...thats 124.00 total. Dr. Fromm is well thought of, look at the reviews yourself. Dr. Barney Rafferty is the vet of my wifes dog Portia and she loves him as her vet. I refuse to give Hewitt Veterinary Hosoital a bad review, based on my positive experiences here. But in todays economy you have to be reasonable. My wife and I can afford to go here, but I will choose not to any longer based on principal alone. It's really a shame, I think they are great, caring vets.

Will certainly be back! This was our first visit to the Hewitt Veterinary Hospital. Everyone from the secretary to the vet tech to the veterinarian herself were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They made my cat, Penelope, feel as comfortable as possible, were incredibly nurturing and even gave her treats after she received her shots. They also sent me home with a very nice goody bag! This is definitely the least anxious my cat has ever been at any vet. Wonderful experience!

Very disappointed today. Have had Dr. Gregory for many years but now they have a young woman vet that had me very upset. My dog Cowboy who is 8 years old has been having a lot of pain due to hip displasia. I took him in to have him put down after several months of indecision if he and I were ready. The Vet talked me out of it and I think in part because her records showed he was a six year old (think they confused my son's German Shepard in a prior visit). $300.00 later, I succumed to their pressure, when I knew in my heart it was time for Cowboy to go. Now I have to get the courage to take Cowboy in again. Listen to your patients, they aren't stupid and it is very difficult for them to make this decision.
