I took my 13 year old miniature dachshund to LaPorte Animal Clinic last year because he was itching, scratching, biting (to the point of blood) all his hair out. This little dog was miserable and I was considering having him put down. Everyone here was so sweet to my poor little dog. He looked pitiful. Dr. Jones went over everything with me and determined that, as I suspected, he most likely had an allergy to the grass at my apartment complex. He went over in great detail my options for treatment, how that treatment would affect my dog, and how that treatment would affect my finances, so that I could make the best informed decision. I opted for the steroid injection and treatment with steroids to see if that would work, knowing that it would not be a long term treatment (dangerous to the dog in long term). I was just looking for quality of life for this little dog. I kept him on that treatment for the summer. By the winter, all his hair had come back and he was doing well. Now it is summer and we are going back to the La Porte Animal Clinic to try it again this summer. Dr. Jones and the staff here were kind, caring and considerate to all my needs, including my finances. I would highly recommend them without reservation.
