I have taken my dog to Dr. Beckendorf for years and I have nothing but positive things to say! When I got my dog, he was a stray. He had a severe case of hookworms and you could see his whole rib cage. Dr. Beckendorf helped him recover, but also helped me understand what I needed to do in order to get Hank healthy and make him comfortable in a new home. I appreciate how Dr. Beckendorf explains what is going on with Hank in terms that I can understand, and she really cares about educating me about his health. For instance, I did not know that heartworm is given to dogs through mosquito bites, which made me realize just how important heartworm prevention is, especially in Texas! I can just tell that she, as well as the other staff members, really care about the animals and want them to be well taken care of in their clinic, as well as at home. I also used to take my chinchilla, Sparky, to Dr. Beckendorf before we had to find him a new home. Dr. Beckendorf helped us get in contact with an amazing chinchilla rescue, which quickly found Sparky a wonderful new home! Just another example of how the staff at Country Club Pet Hospital really care about the animals, and not just the money, like so many other vets do.

I been going to Country Club for several years. I have always been treated with respect and kindness from all of the staff. I have had to have two dogs put to sleep and the entire staff cared about my pain. Dr. B has helped teach me on how to train my puppies. They are true animal lovers at Country Club Pet Hospital.

I had scheduled an appointment two days prior for my ferret, Zii, for 11 AM this Monday morning (11/5/12) . Upon walking in, I told the (very nice) receptionist my name, and she immediately remembered me, it felt good to be remembered! I had to fill out paperwork that involved giving my social security # and DL # to them, I wasn't exactly sure why they needed my social, but that's besides the point. I don't suspect them of being identity thieves, simply because of their professionalism. After filling out my paperwork, I gave it to the receptionist and was immediately given a room. Another lady came into the room after about 5 minutes of waiting alone, checked my ferret (who had cysts on his body and inflamed lymph-nodes), and told me it could be either Lymphosycoma, or Insulinoma, she said "I'm not the doctor though so I don't know for sure." She handed me a packet of papers listing a variety of diseases ferrets are susceptible to, told me that the doctor/vet will come in soon, and left the room. I waited while my ferret ran around the room and read the packets for about 8 or so minutes. The vet came in and said "We're going to give your ferret a quick examination and we'll be right back." She took my ferret out of the room and left for about 5 minutes. She returned and gave me a very detailed explanation of what's most likely wrong with my ferret. I would say my biggest area of satisfaction was that they made the medication my ferret needed affordable! My ferret needed a chemotheraputic medication, but the vet told me "I understand you're on a budget, what happens with these medications is some people will bring them back after their animals died. If we have any in stock, we can give it to you with the charge of just the labeling fee, $5." I was VERY impressed. The exam plus the label cost a mere $50 for my ferret to have a chance for a healthier longer life! I appreciate them so much. I definitely recommend going to this animal hospital, if you're nice and understanding, you have a very high chance of leaving the building 100% satisfied with the service.

I went to Country Club Hospital for years. Dr Kendrick is a wonderful vet. We always had great visits with him. My boston terrier became ill one day. I took him in guessing he had diabetes and they said they just had to do a blood draw. They ended up finding out that he had an infection. They took him to the vet to examine and she did a procedure on him and a prescription. They never came to me to ask permission nor did the Dr on staff ever come speak to me, though they charged me for it all. They assured me he would be fine. Told me that he would need blood sugar tests but wouldn't let me do it for the next day, not until Monday. The vet would never get on the phone with us while Oscars health deteriorated. The techs had no answers. By the next night my pet was vomiting blood and could not breathe. He no longer knew who we were and he suffered much more than he needed to. I would never recommend this hospital purely on the other staff and vet.

I had previously used Country Club vet years ago and had a great experience. When we adopted a dog this year, I decided to go back. Mistake. The form you fill out to have your pet seen requires a driver's license number and your SOCIAL SECURITY number. If they were filing insurance or filing for my taxes, they might need my SS #, but for a dog? Please. The office manager claimed that they required a SS # in case they had to file a lawsuit for non-payment (SS# are NOT required to file a lawsuit) or in case they needed to do a credit check (I was not applying for credit, and I would have to give permission for a credit check). When I refused to give my SS # because of concerns about identity theft, I was rudely told to leave and that they would not see my dog. If you don't mind giving your SS # to strangers for no particular reason, then go ahead and go here. If you do mind, stay away.
