I used Countryside Vet for over 15 years. When Dr. Knippa retired, his staff told me that Dr. Golla used the same philosphies. Talk about B.S. I took my animals in for a dental cleaning and paid almost $1,000. The following month, I inherited a new cat already in liver failure and took her to an emergency clinic on a Sunday. Since I was taking her there almost weekly, I took an older pet there when he was sick to "kill two birds with one stone". They diagnosed him with asthma. I took him to Dr. Golla to have his records updated and to ensure that Dr. Golla was aware of the situation, and to schedule an appointment for the new animal. The visit was pleasant, and he agreed with the other vet on the asthma diagnosis. I explained that I had no intention of switching, but took the older pet to the other vet to save a trip since the cat in liver failure was already there. The next day, I received a letter in the mail from Dr. Golla that we had failed to establish a trusting relationship, and I should find another vet. Dr. Golla is simply looking to rip people off, and can't handle it when you take your animals to another clinic. I will NEVER go back to him. With his kind of service, his New Braunfels location will fail miserably.

I went in with my cat that had mild ringworm. I was almost certain it was ringworm before I went. Dr. Knippa performed the blacklight test and said it wasn't ringworm-that he was certain of it. He said it was a reaction to his collar. Comforted by his diagnosis I went home and didn't continue using athlete's foot cream on him. A week later it had engulfed his whole head and went down his back. I took him to another vet in the area that diagnosed it as ringworm and started oral medication, dips and topical treatment since it was so bad!!! The blacklight test is only effective for certain types of ringworm spores not all of them. Dr. Knippa was not knowledgeable about the different treatments or diagnosing methods of ringworm and now my cat has to be boarded at the other vet to avoid contaminating my home and small child!!! If I had this diagnosed sooner and began treatment it would have never gotten this bad!! I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND COUNTRYSIDE VET!!!!

I take all of our pets to Countryside Vets and we have always received top quality care! I am even called by name, as are my pets, when we walk in the office. The office is always clean and inviting. Dr. Kanipa is very detailed in his services and has always explained any proceedure he does, and what I can expect. We have never had an emergency with our pets, but I am confident in Countryside's abilities if we are ever in that situation. Thanks Doc!
