I go to Brookhollow because while the place is small and rustic, it provides walk-in vet services at usually low cost. They keep the costs low by providing predominately standard procedures, but outsource more advanced stuff, which is where you'll see the costs jump. Dr Scarbrough will take on wild life, which is not common. When I first met him, he was caring for baby possums. He also took the broken but living turtle I brought him for rehabilitation. So looks aren't everything.
Waited two and a half hours for doc to tell me something I already knew: Kitty needed an antibiotic. He shoved a thermometer up his butt and chatted me up (probably why the wait was so long). Total cost: $86. The office visit was $25. I don't see how an antibiotic can be $60. The place is a dump and the staff are unprofessional (criticizing previous customers who'd already left). Avoid like the plague.
