From my initial visit here I was unhappy. I couldn't tell you what the vet's name is since he didn't bother to introduce himself during either of the appointments I brought my puppy to or the one that my husband brought the dog for. He's very impersonal with the owners and extremely rough with the animals. He may be knowledgeable (don't know that for sure since he gave me no advice about puppy care, specific care for my breed of dog or any sort of general information about anything) about animals but I wouldn't accuse him of being an animal lover. I'm still pissed at how roughly he handled my puppy and made no apologies for it. Terrible. There are too many other options in this town, I will just have to drive a little further for some compassionate animal care. Avoid this place at all cost.
NEVER take your hamster here!! They claim to treat exotics yet game my hamster an antibiotic which was too strong for wet tail which he did not have. The following week when I took him to another vet because he developed wet tail, diarrhea in hamsters brought on by the antibiotics. The other vet informed me that the antibiotics given were too strong. I wish I had never taken my hamster to Dr. Joseph Pamplin, it cost the life of my hamster.
In town on business and our 4 yr old Min Pin got sick. Called to see if we could take her in and they said yes, come on in now. Saw Dr. Pamplin and he checked her out, gave her a shot and some medicine. He asked that we call him in a couple of days and let him know how she is doing. He was very nice, professional and caring. The assistants at the clinic were very nice and helpful. Thanks.
Twice we have taken sick puppies to this place and it was obvious their only goal was to run up the bill regardless of your pet's condition. This last time it was horrible. We took our dog in to find out what was wrong; they carge $260, then call us a few hours later and say "he's dead, want us to burry him?" When we arrived to pick him up they refused to give us any analysis of why they think he may have died and had no sympathy for our grief whatsoever (not even the Vet!). He even ademantly REFUSED to show us the x-rays we paid for - saying it was because of "a law" but when asked which law the vet did not know what to say. Place was so shady and doesn't seem to care about animals. In the end we had to take our dead dog to another animal hospital where they were symathetic, reviewed his tests, and were able to give us an explanation for his sudden death.
