The woman with the short hair is extremely rude. I brought in two STRAY dogs that I wanted to get spayed before I took them in to the Humane Society shelter. I have never taken a dog to get spayed/neutered before. On the form it states that if the animal has too many fleas/ticks they may be denied the surgery. This woman did NOT say a word at the time of the examination. She barely checked them and took them in without saying anything at all. When I went to pick them up she said they could have bled out because of this. I asked why they didn't call us. She said it was too late since they were already being put under anesthesia. As I recall one of the receptionists did state that if anything was wrong, we would receive a phone call. She did not even offer to help put on the dogs E-Collars. My mother did not know how to put it on the dogs. She snapped when my mother accidently pulled it apart. She also told me to never bring the dogs in there again and they should have never done the surgery at all. While it is understandable to be upset about the dogs being infested. She could have dealt with the situation in a professional manner rather than giving us a hideous attitude. This could have been prevented if this woman was more thorough. Don't worry, I won't ever go back.
This place is very disorganized. A monkey could run this place better. First you have to wait in line to fill out paper work. Then wait in line to turn in the paper work. Then wait again to drop your dog or cat off. It took close to an hour just to drop off your pet.
The staff has always been kind and helpful. I have taken my cat and my dog over the past 2 years. Both times the experience was pleasant. You have to be on time early but with so many animals it is understandable.
The one experience said I had with this this facility left me in tears. I took in my cat that I had found 8 months prior and loved... she was my rescue kitten. I took her in for a basic spay and shots . But instead of getting a phone call to pick her up when it was over they told me she had died on the table. they said that it happens to 1 in approximately every 5000 animals ...but I don't understand because I have never ever ever heard of it happening before. when I spoke to them and ask them if I would at least get a refund so that I could bury her they said no. They kept my money but did offer to give me the remains of my cat back after her autopsy . Since then I am afraid to take any other animal in .
I have taken several stray cats here to get them fixed at low cost according to my budget. They take very good care of them and I received all of my cats back in very good condition and healthy. =^..^= Please donate if you can; appreciates any help you can give including supplies.
