My last visit was for the last of my three senior cats, Sammie (Samantha). She had a UTI and kidney problems that I was unaware of. She, too received excellent care and is now comfortable at home on a new diet. I wouldn't think of taking my pets anywhere else unless I absolutely had to. To whom it may concern: My name is Laurie A. Gawelko, M.S., and own a Service Dog training company in San Antonio, TX. My family personally owns four dogs, and just lost an older cat. We have been regular clients of St. Francis of Assisi Veterinary Medical Center at 8615 Potranco Road, SA, TX 78251 for over 4 years. Being a dog trainer, I fully researched all local veterinarians before deciding on St. Francis. I have never for a minute regretted that decision. Mr. Vicente Chan, Jr., the Hospital Manager, is the kindest, most compassionate and competent hospital manager I have ever met. When a client walks into the hospital, they can easily tell from the joyful aura exhibited by ALL the front desk staff and the impeccably well-kempt waiting room that this is a tremendously safe, comforting place to take their pets. All the doctors there – Dr. Bauml, Dr. Holub, Dr. Ruiz, and Dr. Muisquiz have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty taking care of not only our family pets over the years, but I send each and every Service Dog client I have to St. Francis (most of whom who see Dr. Muisquiz) because I have unwavering faith in the fact that my clients and their dogs will receive the best possible medical care – not only physically, but compassionately. Every client that goes there instantly falls in love with the staff, Mr. Chan, and the veterinarian they work with. I have literally never, ever had a negative response from the over 25 people I have referred to this hospital. I could go on forever about how much St. Francis does to help the community and their dogs. As a trainer and behaviorist and former veterinary technician, I am absolutely scrupulous about who I choose for my veterinary care and who I recommend for my clients. We chose this vet after calling around to compare several area veterinarians, and decided on this place because the receptionists over the phone were always friendly and willing to help when I called with questions. We have been customers for three years, and see Dr. Musquiz on a regular basis with our three pound puppies. He has been very patient and informative, as we were new dog owners and had many many questions. The staff is always nice and helpful, and it does feel like they love our dogs just as much as we do. You should try it! You won't be disappointed.

Awesome place, have taken my cat and both dogs here. They are very helpful and not pushy at all, didn't try and talk me into extra services. I think the prices are reasonable, cheaper than the vet that's right up the road from me and way friendlier! Would recommend them too all my friends!

We had to let our pup go due to cancer and had Dr. Bauml and his assistant come to our house to do so. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do and we are still heartbroke. Dr. Bauml was wonderful , they gave us all the time we needed and were very sensitive and really cared. So is their staff. They are just wonderful and we feel they care and we feel welcomed there all the time!
