We've been going to T&C for about eight months now and every visit is pleasurable. No complaints. Our two pets (a German shepherd and an Aussie shepherd) have so far received excellent care from them. Everybody's a professional. I love it when they call just to ask how they're doing. We've been to another vet clinic but the unavailability of the service we needed (an X-ray, for which we were referred to an outside facility) was a major turn off. So it's T&C for us!
When you want indifferent staff and surgery as a FIRST OPTION, take your pet here. We brought our cat in because it was sick. Within the first greeting we knew something was off... no one we interacted with was friendly. Call it a stressful time near the holidays or high pressure for being a 24/7 location- but you look for compassion from medical people during a time of illness. After sharing our cat's symptoms, we agreed to have x-rays performed- but the x-ray showed no evidence of a blockage. It did not take long for them to fish out all the possible things our cat could have swallowed around the house, trying to scare us with tight deadlines. "If your cat did swallow something, we will need to perform intestinal surgery right away." They recommended we leave her so they could perform other tests, with the exception of Barium which would clearly identify any blockage but posed risks during surgery. We agreed. Long story short, later that evening they called us and said the new x-rays suggest there is a blockage, so the cat needs surgery right away- $2000 on the low end, $4000 on the high end. We told them we would call back in 30 mins. Imagine their shock when we walked in the door and asked to see the charts, weigh the risk, and see our cat----who remained active and alert. The doctor finally admitted that Barium may be an alternative because it lubricates the intestines and may move a blockage. SHOCK--- the Barium showed NO blockage and our cat's original symptoms remained. THIS PLACE IS CLEARLY ON A QUOTA AND DECEMBER MUST HAVE BEEN A DRY MONTH. OUR RECOMMENDATION: 1)Use reason when dealing with a for profit vet (if your pet is not in pain or acting lethargic...you may have more time than they let on. 2) Ask for evidence and ask them to identify all of the options (because they will skip over the unprofitable ones).
I started going to Town And Country as an emergency clinic at first as I did have my own vet at the time. I do rescue, cat and guinea pig, and found that most illnesses happen after office hours for most clinics. I was so pleased at how through they were, giving me details of all examination points, and offering me several options for treatment. I now take all my pets there, dogs, rescued cats and guinea pigs. They also handle euthanasia and after care with kindness and compassion. I would recommend them to anyone with any pets, especially exotics like guinea pigs ( Dr. Weston is great with the piggies!)
The doctors and staff at TCVC are truly exceptional. They have helped me with so many animals and have given them top notch care. The desk staff win the most friendly award! The only other place on par with customer service is Chick-fil-a! When we had to put our beloved german shepherd down the compassion shown was truly touching. Dr. Manning even prayed with us and prayed over Cole was administering the shot. We trust them with our beloved pets and recommend them to all.
I love the care that all vets, techs and assistants give my animals! My Obie was attacked by dogs in May. We rushed him in and they took every precaution to make sure Obie was free of bacteria and all wounds were tended to. He has had recurring infections and they stay on top of giving him the best treatment to get rid of the infections for good. We always get an appointment as soon as we need it. We never have to wait long for our visits...we are in and out very quickly. The visits may be a bit more expensive, but the care and attention my pets receive is well worth it. Plus the peace of mind I have knowing someone is available to see my pets 24/7 makes the extra cost worth it! It also great to have a vet to take my guinea pigs to when they are not feeling well and for nail trims.
