These are the most caring vets that you will ever find. They are very compassionate about animals and they are very people oriented and sensitive to the pet owner. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They make you and your furry loved ones feel right at home. A++++++

We just moved to the area from uptown Dallas and was looking for a good place to take our Labradors. We loved our previous vet, Katy Trail Animal Hospital, because they are great vets and worked with us to lower the cost of routine items like Heartgard and prescription drugs through reputable online places like Foster and Smith. We know there is no requirement in Texas law for a veterinarian to write prescriptions but it seems to make good business sense, particularly in this down economy, to give customers a choice to purchase their maintenance prescriptions like Heartgard at reputable places freeing up additional money to for other health benefiting items for their pets. My human health insurance requires us to buy maintenance drugs via mail order and not from a doctor to reduce costs! I talked to the nice receptionist who talked to the doctor and she mentioned that Dr. Ruffner would NOT write prescription and you had to buy from their office because they believe it is best for the pet. For Heartgard, Golden Triangle is charging over $100 versus ~$70 at Foster and Smith and I do not know where they get their medicines from. I know there are scams out there, but I have been getting prescriptions from Dr. Foster and Smith for years and trust them. When you have multiple dogs, multiple prescriptions, and in a tough economy, a 40% mark up from the Foster and Smith price seems very high and unnecessary. They probably get Heartgard at $50 or $60 for a year supply from the distributor. The vet might be great, but you can find great vets that will write prescriptions and will work with you for what is best for your pet and your wallet, particularly when there are so many dogs that do not get basic health services. I would encourage Dr. Ruffner to write prescriptions to reputable online pet pharmacys to help their owners and pets and/or become more transparent and lower the cost of the prescriptions they carry, particularly if they really do care for the health and wellbeing of their human and pet customers!
