I visited this animal clinic for the first time today. The staff was really friendly when I set up the appointment and I was even called the day before to remind me. It was my dog's first vet visit in a long time and he just moved from the country to the city. The staff was very efficient on checking my pomeranian for problem. He turned out to have an ear infection and a bad scab on his back. They treated both and gave me prescriptions to help him. My only concern was that each test was itemized and were expensive. My total bill was over $200 and I was expecting about an $80 visit. I wish they had a payment plan. I had to pay it all at once. The staff made my dog feel comfortable and everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this vet clinic.
Very disappointing. Yes, everyone was friendly and did seem to care about my dog but the vet did not follow through on requested services (how tough is a urinalysis when the diagnosis is in question but does involve the urinary tract?) I would have accepted almost any reason the vet gave for not doing this but she would not return a simple phone call. I was charged extra for them to send my dog's blood to an external lab because their own machine was not working properly. When something like that is broken, you don't charge the customer extra due to your broken machine, you fix the machine. Office manager said she would take the charge off and did not. Nobody introduced themselves until I asked. I thought the vet tech was the doctor given the things she was doing and all the questions she asked. I'd heard good things but they did not live up to them.
If you people only KNEW what happened behind closed doors......Dr. Venhaus is the most aweful, hateful, deceitful, abusive (animals and staff) bastard that I have EVER meet. He LIED to owners telling them their pets had come out of surgery when they in fact hadn't even been scrubbed in for surgery yet. He raised his massive hands and hit dogs over the top of the head so hard that his Texas A&M ring made a "cracking" sound over the top of the dogs head (Chocolate lab) the little dog just wanted some attention and was excited. It just literally made me sick. He is a tyrant, evil, manipulating, 2 faced, good ole boy, backwoods idiot. He had to have cheated his way through college because he never did surgeries, he put all of his work off on Dr. Patty and Dr.Michelle. He would cut his staff down in front of owners, he is just a BASTARD! He had a dog named "Max" that he used to take hunting with him until "the girls" at the clinic "babied" him too much and made him an embarassment to take hunting anymore. So "Max" got turned into the clinic guinea pig, getting shaved and having his blood drawn all of the time for use in making medications for other dogs, he was forced to live in a tiny kennel and was taken out a couple of times a day. That is no way to treat a dog. I can not talk about this man much more because it flies ALL OVER ME how he lies and manipulates people into thinking he is such a wonderful person and all he truly is, is SATAN in SHEEPS CLOTHING!
This is the best vet clinic I have ever used (Austin, Longview, Tyler). They are friendly in a very real way, detailed, full range of services, with careful and sincere follow up on all visits and reminder calls for appointments and when it's time for vaccinations, etc. I have been charged more with much less quality of care and attention.
Having just moved here from a big city, it was difficult to locate a vet that I felt comfortable with and had confidence in. Copeland Road Animal Hospital is just such a place. All three of my Bichons liked him and his staff. The staff is efficient, courteous and friendly. And they remember my name.
