Only take your pets here if you only see them as pets and not family members. They don't treat the animals with respect. The dr did not introduce himself, we were not greeted when we arrived. We waited about 1.5hrs ( first come, first serve, NO appts)- THEY DO NO PUT EMERGENCIES FIRST, so please do not take an attacked animal, etc here! (A woman brought in her cat that had been attacked by a dog while I was waiting, and they told her she would have to wait behind everyone in line! Ridiculous!) I do not feel the dr is competent in his knowledge, I feel he does routine things and that is it. He told me my dog had a heart murmur, but did not tell me anything else on the topic or what to do or watch for when I asked! I showed concern about the heartworm medication my dogs were on, he had no interest in my concern, etc. The office is outdated and unclean, trashy/smelly waiting room (dog hair everywhere), don't clean the exam tables between pets. This office does offer very cheap pricing, but it's not worth it if your animals are your family. I have had many friends with similar negative experiences here as well. You wouldn't take your children to a place like that, so I am never taking my dogs back.

Dr. Byrd is the best vet we have ever used. We use him for everything. He's polite and knows what he's doing. He handles our horses quickly and efficiently.

I had a very unpleasant experience here. Let me start by saying this place is disgusting. Their medical table was rusting, there were dog nails all over the floor, and the walls had stains on them. My dog was extremely sick. He ended up having cancer that went undetected for months. I made the decision to put him down instead of making him suffer through chemo. As soon as I signed the release for euthanasia, the vet came in and grabbed his leg to go ahead. There was no waiting with him. We had to tell him to stop so that we could say goodbye. After we got our minute, the vet grabbed my dog and tried to roll him over while his tech (who was probably 16) tried to roll him over the other way, causing my dogs last few minutes to be in more pain than what was necessary. After everything was said and done, I was holding him in my lap and the kid comes back and stands in the doorway with a trash bag to bag him up. After a minute the kid crouched down on the floor and started to bag him, at which point I gave up and left. I have never seen such behavior in a vets office. I was the last client there and he was probably ready to go home. But that is no excuse for how we were treated. My dog deserved a better passing than what was given to him. What the vet and the tech need to understand is these are people's loved ones, and need to be treated with dignity and respect. I will say that the office staff behind the counter were very sympathetic and courteous. I'm sorry that they have to work with people like that. They were able to help me arrange a cremation. I'm also sorry that some people don't have a choice since other vets are so expensive. But there comes a time when paying a little bit more money is worth it.

I have had reason to change my review. I went to buy more Heartgard for our dogs, and I am like 2 months out, and they want to retest the dog for Heartworms. I told the lady we had a Yellow Lab that died last year, and we had been giving our bigger dog her remaining Heartgard for the past couple of months. Well, apparently that wasn't good enough. She basically called me a liar, and would not sell me anymore. I do not take it well when my integrity is questioned. We will be finding a new vet. There is a difference between value-priced and just cheap. The vet can be rude and arrogant, too. Look elsewhere for a good vet, this is not it!
