The only time I will ever use this vet again is if I need a prescription refill. I have an English bulldog who has been hospitalized on a ventilator, and she also had a bronchoscopy done this past fall with South Paws, all before she was a year old. They had highly recommended NOT to put her under anesthesia until was perfectly healthy. I brought my dog to Caring hands because she was having some sort of skin issue, and she had also been coughing lately (which is what she had been doing last year before she was hospitalized). So I had told the assistants that I like a chest x-ray to make sure that there is no fluid, and the assistant smirked at me. I had asked him if he read my dog's chart and knew her history, and he said "No, I havent read her chart." I work in a medical facility, and the first thing you do BEFORE seeing your patient, is read their chart! Then he says "Has she not been spayed yet?" I said no, and he AGAIN smirked at me and slightly shook his head. Since he had not read her history, I explained to him why we had not gotten her spayed at this point in time. The doctor was nice, but my only criticism was that she did not know the medication that she gave me. I had to ask her how often I should use it, and how long I should use it. She had to read the directions on the bottles to give me this information. After asking for ONE x-ray, they had taken 2 and I was charged for both. For the medications, x-rays and exam, it was $400!! Not expecting the charge to be so high, I asked the front desk to charge it on my CareCredit card. She told me yes, but I would have to have the card on me. I know for a fact that ALL providers that accept CareCredit have login that allows them to pull account numbers and to see available credit for those account numbers. So I asked her if she could look it up for me since I did not have my card, and she says, "No, you have to have it." So I ask her if she is able to look it up online, and she still says no. I just spent $400 at their office, and the least they could do was take 2 minutes to pull my card information. I will never take my dog there again, and will make sure I let all of my neighbors to stay away. I used to take her to Stonewall Vet Clinic in Gainesville, and they were AWESOME! Even though I live in Ashburn, and will more than likely go back to Stonewall because the entire staff is efficient, knowledgeable, and so very kind!!

Caring Hands is amazing. My husband and I had shopped a few vets when we moved to the DC area and after going through a few bad ones, we found them. I have never had a more thorough exam done of my cats; I felt like if they had a health problem they would have found it because the exam was excellent. The Dr. (who was very patient with all my questions and seems to really love animals (despite my cat trying to bite him multiple times). I really like how they are transparent too - if you want a tour of the operating room and the rest of the place, they will give it to you. One of the best vet experiences I've had; I can't recommend them enough.

I'm new to the Ashburn area and when my dog became ill Caring Hands fit me in early in their schedule. I really had no idea what was wrong with her but she wouldn't drink or eat, and was in some obvious discomfort. Everyone I dealt with at Caring Hands was very caring and loving towards my dog. Dr. Reiss gave her a thorough exam and when he couldn't determine exactly what was wrong with her he described for me what my different options were. This is the part where the service I got at Caring Hands stood out to me. I was presented with my treatment options, some of which obviously required more tests and services than others but I never felt pressured to have anything done. I opted for x-rays and when they showed no blockages Dr. Reiss again laid out the options (blood work, pain medicine, fluids/pain medicine injections), explaining each option and allowing me to choose without pressuring me to select those that would cost more. The trip to Caring Hands was exactly what I look for in a vet - a thorough exam by a caring veterinarian, a clear explanation of what my treatment options are, and no pressure. When your pet isn't feeling well the last thing you need is to be wondering if all the tests the vet is recommending are really necessary or if they just bought a new boat and need to make the payment. I have been to vets before where you have that feeling that they are taking you for a ride and I am glad to say that Caring Hands doesn’t fall into that group. Caring Hands will definitely be my new regular vet!
