Let me explain our story of "Baby." She was a Blue & Gold Macaw about 14 years old and a dear family member since her hatching. Our experience on Jan. 3rd 2015 is as follows: "Despite the loss of our loving companion and family member, Baby Bird, I wish to thank all the staff for their diligent efforts in trying to save her life. I called frantically without an appointment to several aviary vets, no one could fit her in for various reasons. Upon calling Sawyer Vet Clinic and telling them of Baby's condition, they realized her condition was critical and even though they were solidly booked insisted they could help and that i bring her in immediately. Upon the exam they carefully reviewed her condition and explained everything to me in words that i could understand, and what steps would be best. Dr. Ferguson's assistant presented all the options to me along with prices up front and their worries. The doctor then prioritized the most critical steps. The assistant and Dr. Ferguson were very gentle with handling her, Baby was very comfortable with them even though she usually withdraws from strangers. After i agreed with the care and the procedure, they immediately began the process to save her life, although despite their best efforts it was time for baby to fly to heaven to sit on gods shoulder. We were immediately notified of her passing in a very gentle and tasteful manner. We opted to bring Baby home, upon our arrival the entire staff felt our sorrow and was very sympathetic. Dr. Ferguson and her staff were very patient and genuinely caring. Assisting us with our grieving and sorrow. They listened to our stories remembering the good times we shared with Baby. They never made us feel unwelcome, like they were babies family too, they even shared their stories of the short time they had shared with Baby. Their honesty was greatly appreciated, they informed me that they were not able to complete the procedure, then refunded me promptly. We were also presented with a claw print in a clay shaped heart followed by a beautiful card, personally signed by the entire staff. We will turn these into a plaque in remembrance and celebration of the time we cherished with our loving family member, friend, and companion. We are so grateful you were their for us and thank all of you for what you did." Sincerely. TL;DR - Cat weight dropping. Took cat to the VCA. Cat was diagnosed with a liver infection and put on antibiotics by (a different) vet. Cat's condition continued to deteriorate. I took cat to a completely new vet: Sawyer Lake. Dr. Ferguson was surprised VCA was unable to pull a diabetes diagnosis from VCA's own blood panel. Cat put on insulin. Turn-around has been miraculous. All thanks to Dr. Ferguson of Sawyer Lake.

We have 4 cats and would not go anywhere else. Our oldest is 15 and has diabetes. We went to lake sawyer after seeing two other vets for a third opinion. They also happened to be the closest. Rather than jumping to insulin we were able to control with diet. The staff is knowledgeable and take great pride in their work.

This is in regards to the South Sound Critter Care Rescue they run out of their clinic.. I have not used their actual veterinary services. I am very pleased with my brief, but lovely experience with this veterinary clinic. I had found a young injured bird on my back porch and was frantic on what to do with it. Out of desperation I decided to bring it into the clinic. They didn't charge me anything and only asked for a donation if I wanted to. They didn't give me any hassle on bringing the little bird and accepted him willingly. After a couple of weeks, they had nursed the bird back to health and gave me a call back asking if I wanted to personally release the bird back into the wild. Which I thought was extremely thoughtful of them! I find it very inspiring what they do for the wild animals in our community. Thumbs up for their work!

Nothing but high marks for this Vet Hospital. They have been amazing and are the best vet I have ever been to in over 20 years. The staff has been very helpful and knowledgeable in treatments for my 4yr old cat with Congestive Heart Failure. The most amazing experience I had was when my cat had a blood clot which resulted in Saddle Thrombus (paralysis in the hind quarters). He couldn't walk, use the litter box without help etc. Both the specialist and emergency vet in Renton said euthanasia was the only option. Dr. White at Lake Sawyer Vet said lets try this treatment that is old school but has worked on many pets. We did 2 treatments of DMSO and now my 4yr old cat is walking and acting normal again. They stayed in regular contact with me to check up on my cats progress. I never received one followup call from either the Specialist or Emergency Vet. They are truly wonderful and amazing people that care for your pets as much as you do. I will not take my cats anywhere else.
