If you live in the area and this is your vet, I would strongly consider moving your business elsewhere. I had a horrible experience when I recently took my dog there to get an ear infection treated. I told the vet, Dr. Zittel, what the problem was, as my dog is prone to these things, but she refused to give me the medication until she took a swab test. I was flabbergasted but there was no way I was going to let my dog go untreated. The test confirmed that my diagnosis was correct, but I was out roughly $35 dollars for the test. I seriously felt like I was being ripped off and voiced my concern, which was blatantly ignored. It was made quite clear to me that customer satisfaction at Banfield is pretty irrelevant and they will willingly rack up unnecessary charges on their customers. This company will take full advantage of anyone who comes in there -- be fair warned. I am taking my dogs somewhere else.

I adopted a kitten who, after a day and a half of ownership, became very ill with a cold I believe he got at the place he was adopted from. I was told to go here because they had a free introductory visit. They were fast about getting him in and were very friendly but from the minute I walked in they were trying to upsell me. I gave them the opportunity to make the service personalized by giving them a back story of where I was coming from, how I got him, his medical documents and history, and what I wanted out of our visit, as well as a little information about goals for him. Their focus was on their new animal wellness package (to save on the vaccines I told them he already had, and the neutering....also already done), and the flea treatment package (they checked twice...no fleas). Then they brought up a list of all the tests they could run on him and treatments for deworming and ear mites (but they'd have to run the tests to see if he even has them) along with the things that I needed to help my kitty get better which totaled around $400, but the office visit was free because of my coupon. I ended up just taking the things *I* thought he needed to get better and declining roughly $300 of tests, treatment. Not being a vet, I would have liked my them to tell me what I needed instead of making me feel like I had to take his care into my own hands in order to not feel like I am being taken advantage of. In the end none of the additional things I wanted out of the visit were addressed. But the important part is my kitten is healthy again.

We love the care our dog receives here! They're well educated & under the wellness plan, everything is extremely affordable. We've taken her in for injuries, surgeries, dental cleanings, and all of her regular check ups & have yet to have a bad experience.
