My experience is awful. I brought my dog in at 4:45pm for some stitches. I was told a couple hours, cool no problem. Oh wait you want a $500 deposit? OK, no problem. Its now 11:24pm and they haven't touched my dog. I called and ask numerous times on how long this would take and just getting, oh a couple more hours..... I live 45 minutes away, so I have been sitting in the parking lot with my 2 year old for 7 hours.....

Dr. Meinema was so compassionate and caring as I made the incredibly difficult decision to put my dog to sleep. She and the rest of the staff helped make an immensely painful time go as smoothly as possible. As hard as it was (and still is) I am thankful that they made every effort to respect my wishes and give me everything my dog and I needed to say goodbye. Not all smaller towns have emergency veterinary care, so I am glad this place exists so that my little man didn't have to be in pain while waiting for our regular vet to open in the morning.

Staff was quick and attentive and Dr. Burggren was great with our dog!

Absolutely appalled at this vet and their completely unprofessional office staff and procedures. I feel completely confident that they were only doing whatever they could to try and milk money out of my poor mother in law. Her dog got in a fight on a Sunday and had a very large (4 inches or so) puncture wound. She called her normal vet and they said they wouldn't be able to see him until almost 5 pm, so she decided to bring him here. It was around noon at this point. They were quick to examine him and inform her that they needed to do exploratory surgery to make sure none of his muscles were damaged from the bite. They then charged her $500 right then as a deposit before they would even agree to do the (unnecessary) surgery. They told her they were going to take him back and prep him and that she could wait the 2-3 hours or leave and they would call her. She came to our house to wait. Around 4 o'clock after much nagging from myself, she called to check on him. They had not taken him back yet, but assured her that he was "shaved, prepped and ready to go, because he is next". This same story was told 4 more times, since I started calling every hour. Around 10:30pm she finally left to go and wait at the office, because she knew her dog was probably very stressed. When she got there she demanded to see her dog, and they tried to say that, oh, he is just about to go back. When she continued to demand to see him, they finally relented and made her wait in a private room and the staff talked about how sweet and cooperative her dog is. When they finally brought him into the room, they had only just shaved his wound and HAD NOT EVEN FLUSHED OUT HIS WOUND since he was brought in. She asked why it hadn't been flushed and he didn't seem prepped at all, and they explained that "he wouldn't let us get near his wound." Which one is it?! None of the staff can even get their story straight apparently? They argued with her about refunding her original $500 payment and still charged her $150! All of that so her poor dog could sit in a cage all day, stressed out, with no water, and not even getting a wound flushed? They also didn't send her with any antibiotics or anything. By the time she got him home, she said the smell of the wound was so terrible that it was obviously infected. When she finally took him to her own vet the next day, they had to do extra procedures because of the infection which never would have gotten out of hand had this emergency vet clinic done their job and simply just flushed out his wound. I understand that emergency vets get many patients and they go in order of priority, but there is absolutely no excuse for them letting this dog's wound go almost 10 hours without being flushed. Nor is there an excuse for their poor professionalism about lying to my mother on the phone about her dog. She told them that her own vet could see him around 5, and if they wouldn't be able to see him soon, then please let her know so she could get him into another vet, and they did nothing about it. These people are only after your money and have no professionalism at all.

Blair Burggren, D.V.M is the kindest and most professional vet I have ever encountered. He was so gentle and thorough with my extremely stressed dog, didn't push anything on me, and ultimately suggested some medication for my dog's severe anxiety that worked immediately and finally gave her a night of sleep. I could not thank you enough! Reasonable prices, very helpful front staff, and late night service. Breathing a sigh of relief. Thanks you!!! Ashka and Volya
