When my 7 year old son and myself arrived it was roughly 5:15 a.m. We were taken back right away and asked about systems. I told the gentlemen he had been complaining of his stomach hurting since Thursday night, started vomiting Friday and by Friday evening was running a fever. I informed him that I felt strongly it was his appendix because of the location of the pain. The man sent us to the waiting room and told me I had come in at the perfect time there was one person ahead of us. We sat in the waiting room for 4.5 hours while my little boy sat there in pain and the one guy that was ahead of was still sitting there puking his guts out watching as they took the people who were just coming in the door back before us. Myself and the woman with the gentlemen went up and said what is going on? The receptionist at the counter did NOTHING to better the situation and 45 minutes later we were called back. They immediately took blood finding that his white cell count was extremely high and needless to say we were in surgery an hour later having his appendix removed. Had they made us sit there much longer I would have had a little boy with a ruptured appendix. Not impressed at all. THAT BEING SAID: Once we got back our nurses and doctors were AMAZING!! I could not have asked for a better team of people. Dr. White and her group performed the surgery quickly and we were out of harms way. The nurse upstairs Cora on the 8th floor was absolutely wonderful our ultrasound technician came up 12 hours later to find us and brought a little bear and a note for my little man. We also were the only ones on our side of the hallway so when the Seahawk game came on I got to hoot and holler and have them join me when they could it was so nice me and Z were missing our traveling Seahawk church at home! So yeah the wait time sucked.........but the people we had brought into our lives that day were amazing. Thank you, Z-Man & Tracie

if I could give it a zero I would I went to the ER with stomach pain because I couldn't move when I went in everything was fine they took me to the triage took my blood and everything was okay. finally the doctor comes in says nothing and prescribes me medicine they told me that if I got worse to come back to the ER. So I go home take it for about a week and a half till it runs out and I have gotten severely worse by the so I went back. when I went back the took my vitals and when the doctor can in he wouldn't let me talk treated me like a child and said I have been to the ER for this already and discharged me. I will NEVER go to a providence again even if they are the closest ER by me. I finally went to the Olympia medical center and they found out what was wrong with me because they listened. worse hospital I have ever been to.

My brother and I both had the worst experience with this hospital. I went in a few months ago and they told me that I had liver disease and to go see my doctor if I didn't feel better. The next day I went to a different hospital to find out that I had a ruptured appendix. I don't know how they missed that and thank god I didn't wait to go see my doctor because they told me it was really bad at the other hospital. My brother had the same problem with them too. He had to wait for hours for the doctor to give him pain pills for something that definitely needs to be removed.

I worked there for 5 years and think the trauma and heart treatment is great. The politics and one bad apple can make things stick some times.

I volunteer at the hospital and my mother has been admitted twice and she has always received the best care. We appreciate the quality care she received from the nurses there. And the food service is great. She can order exactly what She Wants to eat. That's huge when you're ill And of course in the hospital. Thank you for being such a great place to get well.
