We take our dog to the vet school regularly. Most recently I found that she had a broken tooth and took her in. The students are always very friendly and patient (she is a very energetic, friendly dog). Wait times were not bad in the lobby though we did spend a while hanging around in the exam room. One of the actual Doctors was quite short with me (because the dog is, as I mentioned, quite energetic and regarding her slight extra poundage which we have since dealt with). Most of the doctors are quite good however. They handled my concerns over my dog well and we arranged to have the tooth removed to prevent infection. The price was very good and the doctor was very good about explaining everything to me. Getting a discount as a student was also nice. I will continue to take all four of our animals to the vet school

The student doctors were very compassionate, they explained all of the services and charges very clearly before they proceeded. I was very impressed. The staff in the pharmacy was also excellent. They were fast, and clear and even carried my dog food to my car for me. However, the after hours call staff and the reception staff left much to be desired. They were pretty short on the phone and seemed pretty annoyed to answer any questions.

I went to the WSU vet hospital on a sunday, for them to see my cat which had been throwing up constantly over the last few days. I had to wait over 3 hours before a doctor was able to examine my cat. This was due to them having a few more critical cases come in while I was waiting. However, they still charged me the extra $45 'emergency' fee, as well as the visit fee of $45. The entire trip ended up requiring 5 hours of my time (11 am to 4 pm) and the problem was not resolved. The vets seemed to think that she had swallowed something, but could not explain her otherwise normal behavior, except for the vomiting. I was especially unhappy with the lack of communication. At one point, we waited over an hour in the room before a student came to tell us we had to wait a little longer. Overall, their emergency services on the weekend do not seem professional or up to par. If you're going to charge an emergency fee, you better have enough doctors available to see the patients that you're charging the fee. We spent 5 hours there and never even got to speak with the doctor until the very end, where she visited for 5 minutes.
