My experience has been very positive with bringing both my cats and dog to this vet and working through some trying illnesses. They have been very supportive and educational.

This happened several years ago, but it still makes me angry, so I thought I would write a review to warn others. Our labrador retriever was 14 years old and obviously was dying of old age. But we weren't 100 percent sure that there wasn't some other reason she wasn't eating and getting so thin, so we brought her to Sammamish Highlands Vet Clinic, just to be sure (she had been a patient there before). Instead of just telling us straight that our dog was old and dying, the clinic performed what I now believe was unnecessary surgery that cost us $2,000. Instead of prolonging her life, it made the end of our poor puppy's life more miserable. She ended up dying about a week later. Sometimes vets just have to tell you that I'm sorry, but doggies get old and stop eating and stop drinking and they die. I feel like they were playing off of our sadness and worry and figured we were easy targets to get more money out of us before our dog died. I think this vet clinic was very unethical and would never take any of our other pets here ever again.

I enthusiastically endorse Dr. William Watkins and his team at Sammamish Highlands Veterinary Clinic in Sammamish WA. My dogs have been patients of Dr. William Watkins for almost eleven years. I was a new pet owner and extremely protective of and attentive to my two Bichon Frise dogs. One dog, Donny, lived with serious, kidney disease and was not expected to live beyond nine-months old. Understanding my concern, Dr. Watkins was kind enough to work with me as I coordinated my natural medicine protocols with his conventional veterinary care. Thanks to that team effort, Donny lived to be happy and healthy until he was 5 ½-years old. I know this was an extraordinary medical situation and Dr. Watkins was absolutely wonderful with his veterinary care and especially understanding of my love and concern for Donny. The staff at Sammamish Highlands Veterinary Clinic is excellent. Their warmth and positive attitudes plus professional standards make it a place where you and your pet feel welcomed, valued and confident of the care and treatment they deliver. The staff is punctual, responsive to inquiries and very accommodating when you have a medical need or emergency. Making complicated medical terms understandable is one of many of Dr. Watkins strengths. He goes the extra mile when it comes to communication and follow-up. He explains the medical condition and then recommends a protocol plus all the costs and implications of that protocol. He provides the information, his recommendations and we, as owners, decide what options we want to take. I highly recommend Dr. Watkins and the Sammamish Highlands Veterinary Clinic team because of the honesty and integrity by which they work. I have recommended this clinic to family, neighbors and friends because of the care, professional skill and warm friendly atmosphere they provide to our animals and to us as guardians of our best friends---our pets.
