I have a half border-collie half Dalmatian mix so she's the flightiest paranoid stay away from my mom dog a person can own who needed a spay her shots and an extra toe removed from all 4 feet as well as dew claws. The staff here was so amazing with her. They provided a soft muzzle which is better then hard ones some offer that cause rubbing and hair loss. The lady who took her back for her spay was the same one who brought her out making the pre and post-op pleasant as she even remembered my name. The service was fabulous and my dog seemed much more comfortable with the ppl here then anyone else that's had to deal with her. I would recommend this vet to anyone. The spay site on my dog was very clean. It was shaved to the flesh instead of the usually longer hair bs I've seen on my other animals causing pain and making it difficult to keep clean and replace bandages. The sutures were non-dissolvable and when I took her to have them removed they were fast and efficient. My wait time was less then 10 mins after checking in for both appointments and pick-up after the spay was able to be scheduled so i was able to get in and out fast. This was my first visit and I was referred by a friend. I"ll from here on out be using this vet for all my pet needs for sure. Would recommend to all.
Selah Veterinary on McGonagle did a terrible job on a surgery on my dog's leg. He had a growth that was removed and then he need to have a cast on his leg. We thought they were checking the bandages when we brought him in for his weekly check ups, but once the cast started to stink we got worried. So we took our dog to a different vet and they said he got "cast rot" and that Selah Veterinary wasn't changing the bandages as often as they should have been. Apparently they just kept putting the dirty ones back on (or they weren't even checking the surgery like they said they were). The new vet we went to did a good job cleaning the leg and getting our dog healthy again, but we walks with a limp ever since. Selah Veterinary Hospital did a terrible job on the surgery and an even worse job with the follow-up appointments.
Dr. McGonagle was amazing. He was truthful and gave hopeful options to us but never sugarcoated the diagnosis for our 12 year old fur baby. We chose to let him go to sleep peacefully in our arms. The doctor did not charge us for this gift of love. It was an office call charge only and he gave us so much compassion. I would not go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. for your expertise and kindness in such a difficult situation and helping us get through it.
So helpful and honest. We were not sure about some claws on a dog we adopted and they gave us a free visit for our recent rescue from the pound. They Were honest and said the claws were fine if he was going to be our house pet. We have been nothing but please every time we take our pets there.
