Such a great experience! I just moved to the area and needed to find a vet near by. So glad I found them! Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly, and both of my dog's first exams were free. Highly recommend!

I had been taking my 5yr old dog to Manito Vet for over two years since I moved to the area and it was recommended. They cost more than the average vet, but they seemed to do a good job so I didn't mind. Then just after an annual check-up my dog was having issues with defacating in the house. He did it 3 times in one day so I was really concerned that he may have caught a parasite or something (not from the vet office, but maybe the dog park). On my lunch break I thought I would run a stool sample up to see if they could test it for parasites. The staff at the desk told me there was nothing they could do with the stool sample and would need to see the dog and do blood work. I called another vet who was willing to test the sample for me. I can't think of any reason Manito wouldn't test it except that they wanted to charge a fee for the Dr. to see the dog for 1 minute and charge the fee for more expensive blood work. Unfortunately for them, they just lost my business as now I am seriously wondering if past tests and service was really necessary or if they just wanted to do it for the extra fees. They did blood work at the last exam "just to check" too. When you feel that the vet is working the $$$/fee/extra service angle, you begin to wonder if they are really there for the animals or just thier own bank account. I want a vet whose priority is the animals and the basic and necessary care to keep them healthy. Manito lost my business this week to their competitor, Hunter Vet Clinic.
