I've done price comparisons in the area and Arbor Ridge is very competitive locally. I can't say enough good things about the staff and Dr. Shawn. We've taken our Lab there since he was a puppy and the clinic has treated all of our pets previously. Dr. Shawn is a great vet and he knows his stuff. I would highly recommend him. They clearly love animals and are very compassionate about their care.
Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is great. My 4 guinea pigs and bunny saw Dr. Hook throughout their lives and he took wonderful care of them, including a few operations they needed. There was great follow up care and pain management. One of my favorite things is they have ultrasound, so you don't have to go to an ER, and in house lab, so you don't have to wait a couple of days for results, like some vets. Also, as a response to some other reviews, vets no longer treat your pet as a black box and send you home with medicine that may or may not work, with sometimes disastrous results. Instead, since they have ability to detect what's wrong through tests. So yes they cost money, but you're sure you're getting the right treatment for your pet. I can't recommend Dr. Hook enough for bunnies and guinea pigs.
First I would like to say that all the folks at Arbor Ridge Vet Clinic were outstanding. I am a very serious pet owner and if I don't like the vet, I immediately fire them. So, that means I am one tough customer. Dr Hook was so kind and understanding about my situation with two 16 1/2 year old puggles. One has serious heart issues and needs her teeth cleaned so that the bacteria won't kill her. Cleo's sister Bugsy needed her teeth cleaned and extracted because they were so rotten. I had not had them cleaned in their latter life because of the fear of losing them while they were under anesthesia. Dr Hook assured me that they would never do anything that they didn't feel comfortable with. I found him and the staff to be more than understanding. They understood my fear completely. Plus all the equipment they use these days are so much better. Now, I am the kind of pet owner that would sell their house to save my pets and give them quality life. I don't squabble over dollars. When I read some of these reviews and how people were upset over pennies and dollars it made me mad. If you can't afford to take care of your pet, than get a rock pet. My animals are my children, and I will always give them the best care out there, including alternative medical measures such as acupuncture, chiropractic, and herbal medicine. Whatever works. Dr. Hook was very open to everything I did for my pets and he listened, which is a real treat these days as no one seems to do that anymore. When my husband and I left the girls to get all their work done, Dr. Hook walked over to me and hugged me. He told me they will be ok. I am from the south and all of us southerners are huggers. Most people here don't do that and I miss that so bad. So thank you Dr. Hook and all the great people at Arbor Ridge, Chris, Emily, Liz, etc. You won my trust and believe me that is a hard thing to do.
The team at Arbor Ridge was the most caring and courteous team of veterinarians I have ever met. They were so gentle with my chinchilla Marshmallow (the greatest little guy ever) and were upfront with all options, costs and procedures as they diagnosed him. I cannot thank them enough.
I thought @ first I was going to like it because they were full of lots of great information but I then realized they were trying to over charge me. When I asked them about it they said it was an error in billing, I then said shouldn't you have to honor that? They decided they would meet me half way from what I was originally quoted. They then suggest I purchase multivitamins for my animal & showed me what I needed in the exam room. I asked how much & they gave me a higher price than the one in the exam room that was the same exact thing. I questioned it & they again said it was an error & should be the higher price. I said well don't you think you should honor it? They in return told me that was the price the higher price & put a sticker over it saying the higher price in front of me. Now this is two times in one visit. Really irratated & wont go back. They should have had to honor the cheaper price on account both "ERRORS" were there fault!
