Animal Hospital of Oshkosh is a first class act! I trust and have full confidence in each and every doctor and the staff. I have personal kitties plus work with a foster organization and visit the clinic often several times a week with a variety of concerns, questions and unique requests. They NEVER fail me. It is easy to customize patient care, get expert treatment and referrals when that is necessary. I love a larger staff because they work off the individual strengths of each to best serve my kitties. I never see ego or an unwillingness to consult. In fact it is the opposite. As the clinic owner Dr. Diane is willing to make the tough decisions needed of a small business owner and also recognizes the needs of the greater community. Her generosity and giving back to the community (well beyond Oshkosh) is exceptional. I consider all of them not only great care givers but awesome friends as well. Personal, compassionate, cutting edge, competent...always the best for the animals and their humans.
I have been going to Animal Hospital of Oshkosh for over thirteen years with my boy Jake. He has Always received wonderful care and now that we have entered his elderly years and his needs are more complicated I can't tell you how much I appreciate my relationship with Dr. Diane and her staff! Thank you Dr. Diane and The Animal Hospital of Oshkosh!!
Word to the wise: ONLY work with Dr. Heidi. I feel bad for her because she is the one who has tried to clean up the mess twice caused by various doctors there seemingly pulling prices/procedures and medication. IMPORTANT NOTE: Dr. Heidi is wonderful. She is caring, straight forward, and bends over backwards to help you. Unfortunately it puts her in a rough position of putting out fires her co-workers ignite. She deserves all the praise. Honestly, she is one of the best vets I've dealt with as a dog owner my whole life. The only reason they got 2 stars is Dr. Heidi is worth 10. The rest NOTHING. About 10 months ago, we brought in our aging dog for some yeast issues. The vet we got prescribed her meds that landed her in the Appleton Hospital dehydrated and unable to eat, yet still throwing up in less than 36 hours. At least when I brought her back to show them, Dr. Heidi was very understanding and caring. She said she was disturbed by this, and would try to find out what happened. Very professional, very caring, very honest. I (must admit rather foolishly in hindsight) brought her back recently. Stomach bloating and fluid issues. The vet I got said she has roughly 6 months left , but we can do a quick test and send it in for analysis for another $200. I understand the test was for pure diagnostic reasons, hey, she's an aging girl, we just want to find out what were working with. I brought her back for the "quick test", whereupon I was told it was NOT a simple procedure, she would HAVE to be sedated (despite what the previous vet told me), which was as most know, very tricky with older dogs. Hmmmm. I thought. That is DEFINITELY not what they told my wife and I last week. Then the icing on the cake: remember that $200 estimate? $430. Dr. Heidi to the rescue again. She once again said she was disturbed that the vet would give such an arbitrary number of 200. She would personally care for my dog that day. So. To Recap. Bring your aging dog in. See some vet there. Get meds. Bring said dog to hospital because the meds almost kill her. Come back, talk to Heidi. Spend twice as much (4 times if you land up in the hospital) to fix what they gave her last time. Bring her back at another time. Get told about diagnostic procedures that can easily be done for a certain price. Bring her back for those tests. Get told "sorry about the miscommunication". Get charged more than twice what the estimate was for a straightforward test. Dr. Heidi is wonderful. Unfortunately she is the only person who has treated me with respect, honesty, no bait and switch. She treated my dog as if it were her own. These are the best things one could hope for in a vet. Unfortunately, if there are other straight shooting vets there, I have not met them in the 2 years we have been a client. My mistake? I came back, feeling Dr. Heidi can't be the only straight shooter there. I guess I was wrong.
Great People and Care - I brought my Bearded Dragon to the Animal Hospital of Oshkosh. I had excellent service/care. Being an exotic animal I expected a higher cost, but it was very reasonable. They also have been following up with me via email and have sent me more info in the mail. They've gone above and beyond and I will be bringing all of my pets here in the future.
I just want to start by saying that Dr Heidi is the best vet I have ever dealt with (and there have been lots). She is so knowledgeable when it comes to animals and she has always been such a phenomenal caring person when it comes to my cats. She has personally "saved" 2 of them from death and Im forever grateful to her. She is a humble down to earth Dr who doesn't "claim" to know everything. I always recommend this place to people. The staff for the most part are excellent. The only issue Ive had is related to diet. Like all vets offices, they push Science Diet and the like which through my reaserch really is a horrible food and there are many far superior to it and cheaper I might add. Dr Heidi is pretty knowledgeable in this area but some staff are not which was kinda disappointing. Just do your own reaserch and you will find alot of good information. One last thing, if you are having a pet emergency they are really the best at getting your pet in right away.
