I've a great deal of respect for the doctors and staff of Oakview Veterinary Medical Center. I worked with Dr. Hankison and Dr. Scott for four years and saw firsthand the excellent care that they provide, and witnessed an atmosphere of great caring for clients and patients at the clinic. The community has a great asset in having this team of veterinarians and support staff to care for their family pets.
My pets have been under the care of Oakview for 18 years. My dogs are 18 & 16 yrs old. I have always been treated with care and respect on each of my MANY visits. The staff has gone above and beyond to care for my pets and comfort me when they have been ill. This is an amazing group of people who give 110% to their customers and their job. Thank you for caring for my pets!!!"
Dr. Hankison is the best! As neighbors in Illinois he was determined that we share in the joy of a pet companion, (even though I was not so sure myself) and matched us up to the best pet-friend we have ever had, our beloved Norman. Norman was an orphan and although Dr. H. wasnt running a pet shelter, he cared enough to find him a good home. After he moved up North to open OakView, we would drive Norman up to receive the best of care. That was almost twenty years ago, and although Norman is no longer with us, we have fifteen years of memories to share with anyone who will listen. Thanks Dr. H!
I am a student, and recently completed a summer internship at Oakview Veterinary Medical Center. I can honestly say that the quality of care and compassion for animals at Oakview is exceptional. All of the staff is extremely knowledgeable, and work together to provide outstanding care for all types of pets. Every animal that I saw cared for was treated as though he or she was the most important pet in the world. And, since my pets are the most important animals in the world to me, that is how I would expect my Veterinary medical team to treat them! I would very strongly recommend this clinic to everyone with companion animals in the Plover/Stevens Point area.
I just called to make an appointment for my pet to be seen -- I'm disappointed. Our pet started showing signs of being ill yesterday afternoon and is obviously in pain (sore ear, I think?) and when I called to make the appointment, I was told I would have to pay an urgent visit fee on top of the other fees that would acrue (checkup, etc.) simply because this pet hasn't been seen at their clinic before, and because they don't have an appointment available. Nevermind that I AM a returning customer -- I've had other small pets to their clinic in the past. I live 40 minutes away from this facility, so my dogs see a vet closer to home, and my dogs' doctors ALWAYS accommodate and NEVER have an "up" charge for "urgent" care when it's within the time frame of their normal office hours. Things come up and they squeeze us in and do whatever they can to help. I feel as if this clinic in Plover takes advantage of people and can get away with charging ridiculously high rates simply because they are one of the few vets in the state that will care for small animals.
